Returning your car

Four quick steps for a smooth drop-off.

Step 1

Fill up the tank

Return it full. Fill up at any service station within 2 km of your return location. If we refuel it, the charge is $5–7 a litre.

Find fuel near your return location

Which fuel does my car take?

Check the label inside the fuel flap, the owner's manual in the glovebox, or the key tag.

Not sure? Call 13 27 27 before you fill up.

The tank wasn't full when I picked it up. Take a photo of the fuel gauge and let us know. Please still return it full, and we'll refund the extra fuel.

Wrong fuel? Don't start the car. Call your location straight away. If the car has already stopped, see breakdown help.
Step 2

Check the car

Walk around and look for new damage or missing accessories. Photograph any new damage and show a team member. Take all your belongings.

Step 3

Return the keys

During staffed hours, hand the keys to a team member. Each location is a little different, so check your location page.

Step 4

Returning after hours

Some locations have a key drop box. Park in a marked bay and drop the keys in the box. The car stays locked until staff arrive, so take everything with you first.
